Jordanian wine : ウィキペディア英語版 | Jordanian wine Jordan's location in the region known as the cradle of civilisation, makes it an obvious candidate for having roots in wine production.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Jordan Wine )〕 Wine has been produced in Jordan for thousands of year, dating as far back as Nabatean times. Several sources suggest that the wine served to Jesus during the Last Supper came from Umm Qais in Northern Jordan.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=7 things I didn't expect to find in Jordan - Matador Network )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Experiences- Wines of the Holy land - Jordan )〕 Although Israeli wine and Lebanese wine dominate the wine industry in the region, some Jordanian wines are organic which made them unique and popular.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=BeAmman: Discover Amman’s new places, hidden treasures, people, streets, food and events. -A Vine Romance )〕 ==Grape varieties== Whatever grape varieties were once grown in Jordan, they have been most likely lost forever, leaving a gap in the world's wine history. Jordanian wines are now made from the Vitis vinifera varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinot Noir for reds; Chardonnay, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Chenin Blanc for whites. The latter four have strong associations with the coolest vineyards of France, so it is unusual that these varieties do well in the desert at very low latitudes. Even Fiano variety of Italy has found a place in modern Jordanian wine.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Wine-Searcher. Human race only please ... )〕
